The Cape Town Future Energy Festival is a city-wide movement to empower residents in their energy choices, by bringing energy-smart solutions into our homes, schools, and communities.
By providing residents with knowledge, practical tools and inspiring experiences, the Future Energy Festival is helping households save energy and reduce costs, while building resilience in the changing
energy landscape and climate impacts.
By reaching diverse communities across Cape Town, we can ensure that everyone is part of the solution and contributes to
our shared energy future.

Our interactive and educational Let’s ACT pop-up stand will be coming to a mall near you! Learn with hands-on experiences how saving energy in the home can make a difference. Make sure you don’t miss the following dates:

Let’s ACT at Home Exhibition:
Step into a real-life example of net-zero carbon living and discover practical ways to reduce energy use at home!
The
Building Centre Exhibition in Ysterplaat is open to the public Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00, Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 to 15:00, but our expert guides will be there to take you through the exhibit and answer your questions on the following days:

Community Murals
Come and check out our two new energy-inspiring murals at Wesfleur Library in Atlantis and Lansdowne Library!
The unique designs were developed through creative workshops with community members, ensuring that the final murals reflected both sustainable energy principles and the values, hopes and identities of the Atlantis and Lansdowne communities.
Once finalised, experienced muralists helped bring the designs to life. This collaborative process demonstrates how community-led design can lead to local action. Make sure to stop by these beautiful artworks, and be inspired to make your home more sustainable and energy efficient.

Let’s ACT: Live Smart Programme
The
Let’s ACT: Live Smart Programme prepares Cape Town seniors to stay safe, healthy and energy-efficient during the summer heat. Through interactive workshops, participants will learn practical tips to reduce electricity use, cook safely, and keep food at the right temperature using smart cookers and cooler bags.This programme is run through a partnership between the Sustainable Energy Markets, Environmental Management, Risk and Resilience and Library and Information Services departments.
Energy Efficiency Schools Programme
Schools and young people play an important role in shaping behaviour, and learners can inspire real change in their homes and communities.
An inspiring, engaging theatre production has been touring Cape Town schools, educating learners on how they can be the next generation of energy heroes.
